Community Health Worker Training Supports Grand- and Kinship-Families
Sept 20, 2023
Did you know that more than 3 out of 10 grandparents are raising their grandchildren in Massachusetts with historically little financial or social support? That’s changing with the dedication of $1.2 million in federal funds secured by U.S. Rep. James P. McGovern, D-Worcester, for the Central Massachusetts Area on Aging’s Grandparents Raising Grandkids Resource Center. At the Center for Health Impact, we’re honored to support this work by training new Grandfamilies Community Health Workers (CHWs) in our 80-hour CHW core competency training focused on supporting Grand- and Kinship families.
The Center for Impact is a MA Board of Certification of CHWs Approved CHW Core Competency Training Program and has been a national leader in CHW workforce training for more than 20 years. Ms. Joanne Calista, Executive Director of the Center for Health Impact serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Community Health Workers.
